Sonovia and I first met in December 2016, while we were both at university. It was around the holiday season, when campus was mostly quiet, and we were invited to a Christmas gathering. I was the first to say hello, and I offered her a seat—that small moment became the beginning of everything.

From there, we kept talking, and what started as a simple introduction turned into a journey that’s lasted nearly a decade. Through university and beyond, we’ve supported each other, grown together, and made it through every season—both the easy ones and the challenging ones.

Now here we are in 2026, excited and counting down to our forever as we look forward to becoming one on July 5th. I’m Jamaican by birth, Sonovia is Bahamian, and our story is a beautiful blend of cultures, love, and shared purpose.
